Vendor Spotlight Guidelines

A feature of AnswerStat magazine is our Vendor Spotlight, which allows us to provide editorial coverage for our sponsors.  Spotlight articles are available at no cost to sponsors of AnswerStat magazine; for all others, the cost is only $1,995.

This document is provided so that you can write a compelling and effective piece.

Overview:  Each issue of AnswerStat magazine can include a Spotlight on one of our sponsors.  These articles will also be put on the AnswerStat Website. 

General Guidelines:  Your spotlight should be written in a third person style, from the perspective of an outside person reporting on your organization.  The length can be up to 1,200 words.  Pictures are encouraged, but including them does decrease the available space for your article.

Title:  The title should be the name of your company.  A subtitle may be used to indicate your company's legacy, future focus, or mission.  The subtitle should be concise and compelling.

Copy:  The copy should read like a news report.  This is not the place for self-promotion, hype, or spin, no mater how subtle.  Doing so will hurt the article's credibility and decrease its impact.  Also, do not capitalize text nor use bold, italic, or underline formatting.

Content:  Possibilities include company history and background, little known facts, interesting trivia, pertinent information, mission statement, vision, future goals, key players, organizational structure, contact information, company size, markets served, future plans, or product summaries.  Whatever you include, the key is to make it interesting, informative, and compelling.  Alternatives to providing information about your company is to submit a case study about one of your clients or a product/software description.

Editing:  Submissions will be edited for content and length at the sole discretion of AnswerStat.

Non-writers:  If you do not have the staff or the time to write your Spotlight article, we can have a professional writer who, for a fee, will interview you and write your Spotlight.

Website:  Your Spotlight will be included in the AnswerStat Website.  Once submitted and edited, your Spotlight will be added, even if has not yet been published.  Also, this is intended to be a "living" document and you may submit updates as needed.

Submission:  All articles must be submitted via email to dehaan@answerstat.com as Microsoft Word document or a plain text file.  Mailed and faxed submissions cannot be considered.
