Health Navigator Inc. and MDLive Provide Advanced Diagnostic Capabilities

Health Navigator Inc. announced that it has partnered with MDLive to create a better, faster telehealth encounter for patients and doctors. As result of this arrangement the Health Navigator database of clinical codes and analytic tools is being integrated into the MDLive user experience.

Health Navigator’s natural language processing technology enhances the MDLive experience by converting free text that is submitted by users into medical terminology. The program can detect common misspellings and rate symptoms based on urgency to provide safe and accurate diagnosis and record keeping. The capabilities benefit both provider-facing and patient-facing interfaces that employ the MDLive application.

“As a company dedicated to developing innovative technological solutions for telemedicine, MDLive is a natural partner for us,” said David Thompson, MD, CEO and founder of Health Navigator. “We strive to deliver a fast, accurate telehealth experience that improves care delivery for providers and patients, and this partnership takes us closer to that goal.”

Customers who use MDLive will benefit from Health Navigator’s clinical documentation support, which delivers a virtual medical history and symptom checklist. This is made possible by the Health Navigator database, which is made up of 450 coded chief complaints and 2,700 clinical concepts. The Health Navigator system gives clinicians access to supporting information and in-depth questions that help doctors and patients recognize all treatment possibilities.

“Ensuring that the right questions have been asked and that records are accurate is a fundamental part of the patient experience,” said Randy Parker, CEO of MDLive. “Our partnership with Health Navigator enables this by creating a high-quality, seamless user experience that is delivered consistently anytime, anywhere.”
