The new miSecureMessages now also features iOS 7 design enhancements throughout the app and includes a new icon to match the iOS 7 look. The miSecureMessages Apple app is available for iPad®, iPhone®, and iPod touch®.

Designed to replace pagers by providing encrypted two-way communications on smartphones and tablets, miSecureMessages saves healthcare staff more than one minute per communication as compared to legacy pager technology. The app is also available for Android™ and BlackBerry® devices.

Amtelco’s Vice President of Research and Development, Kevin Beale stated, “This latest release shows our ongoing commitment to our thousands of miSecureMessages users, ensuring we will continue to develop features designed to improve their experience, and keep their data secure.”

In related news, a number of updates for the Red Alert emergency and event notification system. Highlights of the new Red Alert software version 2.0.5 release include several new contact methods, support for automated email, and TAP paging alert triggering, as well as IVR performance enhancements.

1Call’s encrypted two-way communications application, miSecureMessages, is now available as a Red Alert contact method. When an alert is triggered, this allows recipients that use miSecureMessages to receive the notice on their smartphones or tablets. Another new contact method is Vocera, allowing recipients to receive alerts on their Vocera Badges.

Red Alert also supports automated email and TAP page triggering of alert activities, making it possible for third-party applications, such as alarm monitoring systems and nurse call systems, to automatically trigger alerts. The trigger history is recorded in the system database.

Amtelco President, Tom Curtin, stated, “These new updates and integration paths to Red Alert will allow for more flexibility in alerting recipients of critical messages, and it will allow Red Alert to integrate with legacy systems and alarms to initiate alerts.”
